Poem: Phantom

The body does not easily forget
The sensation of 13 grams
Of platinum and diamonds
That were essential to its being
For nearly a decade.
Though the union is now dissolved
And its artifacts buried
In a concrete cave,
The phantom appears,
Jolts me from sleep,
And mocks my loss.
